Mid-Level Operations Technician (full time) – Oakland, CA

Objectives Red Fox Resources is a fast-paced, rapidly growing business. We seek a motivated and energetic person to take on many technical and mechanical tasks involving vehicles, equipment, and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will be a “jack of all trades” with demonstratable hands-on experience and a strong willingness to learn new skills Job Duties
  • Maintain and improve catalyst processing equipment
  • Maintain and improve facility dust control and cleaning equipment
  • Maintain vehicles
  • General troubleshooting and repair
  • Set up computers, barcode scanners, etc.
Abilities and Skills Driving
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience setting up and towing trailers
  • Comfortable driving 2500/3500 series pickup truck
Automotive
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Replacing batteries, changing fuses, filling tires
  • Operating vehicle lift and loading vehicles onto transport vehicles
Tools and Equipment
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools, including table saw, chop saw, and drill pressure.
  • Experience operating a milling machine is a plus.
  • Plasma cutter and welder
Computer and Electronics
  • Use of handheld voltmeter to troubleshoot electrical equipment and electronics
  • Basic knowledge of 120-480 volt single-phase and three-phase power
  • Wiring motors, switches,
  • Setting up computers and data loggers
  • Competency using a PC and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
Operation and Facilities
  • Basic maintenance of doors, lights, windows, etc.
Education and Training
  • High school Degree
  • Associate degree or coursework from a two-year college
  • Training as an automotive technician or mechanic
Experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in the technical or automotive field
  • Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, computers, and electronics.
  • Familiarity with automotive technology
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and instructions

Salary Range

Entry Level Operations Center Technician (full time) — Oakland, CA

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with his/her hands, including experience operating heavy machinery and using power tools. The candidate must also be able to quickly learn new skills, work effectively with others, and be comfortable getting dirty. We deal primarily with heavy-duty diesel truck parts, with the scope of activity ranging from general checking-in and processing of parts to very specialized technician-type diagnostic and repair work. We are looking for someone who can effectively and enthusiastically perform both types of activity with acute attentiveness to safety.

  • Shipping/Receiving inbound and outbound shipments (forklift operation will be required)
  • Inbound inventory receiving
  • Dismantling of heavy-duty truck parts
  • Operation of hydraulic recycling equipment
  • Operation of advanced diesel particulate filter cleaning equipment
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness of Operations Center
  • Maintenance on all hydraulic equipment
  • Occasional parts pickups in Northern California using company vehicles

Education Requirements

  • College degree preferred
  • High school diploma required

Professional Experience Requirements

  • Experience in the automotive or heavy-duty truck service, parts distribution, or industrial recycling is preferred but not required if the candidate has a successful track record in warehouse operations.
  • Candidate must have a valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record and no DUIs.
  • Candidate will be subject to a background check before hire.
