Industrial Precious Metal Recycling

Recycled Value of PGM Bearing Material

The recycled value is based on the amount of Platinum Group Metals (PMG)

Recycled Value is Based on PGM Presence in Parts

PRICING – The recycled value of your spent Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Three-Way Catalyst (TWC), and other PGM bearing material is based on the presence of Platinum Group Metals (PGM). Engine and equipment manufacturers coat the substrates of DPFs, DOCs, and TWCs with PGM to provide a chemical reaction in the exhaust stream that enables engines and equipment to meet emission standards.

Why the Values Vary?

Engine manufacturers have varying engineering methods for how much PGM is used on each engine platform. As a result, there is a vast range in the amount of PGM content in each DPF, DOC or TWC. This range not only varies greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but a single manufacturer could use a range of PGM coatings for different engine models, model years, horsepower ranges, and certain applications for a common engine model.

What Can You Expect?

Red Fox Resources does not publish a list of prices on individual parts, but we can offer some basic guidance on how much you can earn from recycling your DPFs, DOCs and TWCs (natural gas catalysts).  Below is some actual data reflecting how much we pay for parts.
