DPF Core Pricing – The recycling value from your spent Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) or Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) is based on the presence of Platinum Group Metals (PGM). Engine manufacturers coat the substrates of DPFs and DOCs with PGM to provide a chemical reaction in the exhaust stream that enables engines to meet emission standards.
Engine manufacturers have varying engineering methods for how much PGM is used on each engine platform. As a result, there is a vast range in the amount of PGM content in each DPF or DOC. This range not only varies greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but a single manufacturer could use a range of PGM coatings for different engine models, model years, horsepower ranges, and certain applications for a common engine model.
Red Fox Resources does not publish a list of prices on individual parts, but we can offer some basic guidance on how much you can earn from recycling your DPFs, DOCs and natural gas catalysts. Below is some actual data reflecting how much we pay for parts.
