Pricing—PMG Values for Recycling
Recycle Value Is Based on Platinum Group Metals (PMG) Content
Value Based on Platinum Group Metals (PGM)
DPF Core Pricing – The recycling value from your spent Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) or Three-Way Catalyst (TWC) is based on the presence of Platinum Group Metals (PGM). Engine manufacturers coat the substrates of DPFs, DOCs and TWCs with PGM to provide a chemical reaction in the exhaust stream that enables engines to meet emission standards.
Why the Values Range?
Engine manufacturers have varying engineering methods for how much PGM is used on each engine platform. As a result, there is a vast range in the amount of PGM content in each DPF, DOC or TWC. This range not only varies greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but a single manufacturer could use a range of PGM coatings for different engine models, model years, horsepower ranges, and certain applications for a common engine model.
What Can You Expect?
Red Fox Resources does not publish a list of prices on individual parts, but we can offer some basic guidance on how much you can earn from recycling your DPFs, DOCs and TWCs (natural gas catalysts). Below is some actual data reflecting how much we pay for parts.
Red Fox will provide price estimates for any DPF, DOC or TWC prior to collection. If you would like to know what we’ll pay you for your parts, please give us a call or fill out the form on our quote page. We will get back to you within a day or so with the recycle value of your parts.
PICKUP Truck Owners: Please note, we ONLY work with businesses. If you are a pickup truck owner looking to recycle or sell a single DPF, please see this article on DPF Recycling for Pickup Truck Owners.
