Volvo and Mack Trucks Extend Partnership with Red Fox Resources

Oakland, CA, April 1, 2022 – Benefits from precious metal recycling push Volvo and Mack Trucks to Extend Partnership with Red Fox Resources.

This extension of its partnership with Volvo and Mack Trucks North America provides Volvo and Mack truck dealers with a program to recycle used emission control parts. This program allows Volvo and Mack dealers to recycle scrap emission cores, such as diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs). Red Fox Resources purchases scrap/used emission control systems from the dealer and reclaims the catalyst material for re-use.

“Red Fox is pleased to extend our partnership with Volvo and Mack Trucks and their extensive dealer network to recycle DPFs and DOCs. Recycling parts that would otherwise be scrapped or thrown away provides a simple pathway to both revenue and sustainable business practices.”– Brad Edgar, CEO Red Fox Resources

The parts are dismantled into their core components and recycled sustainably, maximizing value and ensuring little or no material is sent to a landfill. This recycling partnership was originally announced in January 2018 and has just been extended as of April 1, 2022. Since its announcement four years ago, Red Fox has worked with many Volvo and Mack dealers across North America to recycle over 4,000 scrap emission control parts. This program offers a simple process to recycle used DPF and DOC parts in an environmentally sustainable manner while generating additional revenue for participating dealers.Volvo Mack ClearTech aftertreatment system

ClearTech™ Aftertreatment SystemSince 2018, Red Fox has seen an influx of Volvo Mack ClearTech aftertreatment systems for recycling. This assembly contains a DOC and a DPF that can be recycled. Red Fox regularly purchases these systems from Volvo and Mack dealers across North America. Red Fox handles the disassembly and extraction of the DOC and DPF. Dealers do not need to disassemble the parts before shipping. In addition to ClearTech™ systems, Red Fox also recycles most other major brands of heavy-duty diesel emission control systems.
