Recycling Emission Control Equipment
Recycling Emission Control Equipment from Construction Equipment
Red Fox Resources purchases diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs) from mobile off-highway construction equipment meeting US EPA Tier 3, Tier 4 Interim or Tier 4 Final emission standards.
Based on engine horsepower and application, equipment manufacturers utilize a variety of emission control technologies to achieve the emission requirements. The control technologies are often used in combination to achieve the requirements.
For example, there are manufacturers that have certified engines meeting the Tier 4 standards without the use of diesel particulate filters (DPF) but may use a combination of in cylinder technology along with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to achieve the standard. However, that same engine or equipment manufacturer may use a catalyzed DPF in a different horsepower range and/or application to achieve the emission standard.
Similar to the on-highway applications (truck, bus, etc.), there are various scenarios that cause the emission control technology to be replaced. Red Fox actively purchases these spent emission control parts from Off-Highway construction equipment from dealers and heavy equipment dismantlers.
Manufacturers
Red Fox Resources helps recycle emission control equipment (DPFs and DOCs) from most of the major equipment and engine manufacturers including:
- Caterpillar
- Cummins
- Doosan
- Hyundai
- John Deere
- Kobelco
- Komatsu
- Kubota
- Liebherr
- MTU
- Volvo
The value for these spent catalyzed DPFs and DOCs from off-highway equipment ranges from $25 – $1,000.
